From Ghastly to Gorgeous

I found this ghastly 1950's footstool at Goodwill the other day. It had seen better days and was so outdated, but it had good bones. Also, the $4.99 price tag got me. I tore it apart, was a little creeped out by what I found for stuffing (that nasty excelsior straw) and went to town painting the legs and reupholstering!

A little black spray paint, some fabulous French looking fabric, and wah-lah! Isn't she gorgeous? My daughter quickly snatched it up and is happily resting her feet on it in her new apartment! Home sweet home.

Have a great weekend!

Sweet Jasmine Moment

I snapped this picture of Jazz as she was having a bath in the afternoon sunshine. Funny huh?

What's In Bloom?

It's been really hot here in Middle Tennessee - today has a high of 95 degrees, so I'm not sure how these plants are able to survive! Every June, the daylilies come out with a gorgeous show of blooms. And the roses are trying really hard, in spite of the heat. So today, I wanted to share some of the beauty of my garden. Enjoy!

Living My Dream in Tennessee

When you get to be my age, you start to realize how much each day matters. And you realize how your time on this earth is getting shorter. For me, that means that I had better start pursuing my dreams! One of the things I love doing is spending time laughing with friends. This is me at the famous Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville. I had so much fun line dancing, laughing and meeting new friends.

I know that my best days are in front of me!

PS: How do you like my date? Pretty handsome cowboy, huh?

Sweet Summertime!

It's been forever since I posted...last October, as a matter of fact! And now it is summer in the South. It's been in the nineties for the past week. This is where I'll be spending a lot of time...sipping on a sweet tea!
