And now, it feels like home!!

When I moved in three months ago I was greeted by a white front door. I knew that had to change…it just didn’t feel like home. The only problem was, it was blazing hot outside, and I would need to leave the door open while painting (not to mention corralling three cats to keep them inside). Well it finally cooled down into the 80’s one day this past week and I was able to change the door from this…

To this!! I LOVE RED!!!

Now it feels like home! Happy Labor Day, Y’all!

I'm A Pony Girl!

I’m not really sure why, but I’m a “Pony Girl”! I have loved these cars since I first laid eyes on one. I was 5 at the time. Most girls my age were dreaming of Barbies, dresses, shoes or pink rooms. Not me, I was dreaming of a Mustang! I have to say I have been blessed to own three of these babies in my lifetime. So in honor of my upcoming 50th birthday…this is what I would wish for when blowing out those 50 candles! Red, of course!

A Taste of Fall

It’s 92 degrees outside, but for some unknown reason I’ve just had that Fall feeling lately. Maybe it’s because the sun is lower in the sky and there’s a definite golden glow late in the afternoon. Or maybe it’s wishful thinking...as I grow tired of the endless summer heat. I succumbed to my feeling of Fall and decided to indulge my taste buds in my favorite Fall treat…Apple Crisp! Mmmmm…warm and cinnamony with vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with caramel sauce…hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! Victoria Lynn

Pink Saturday!!

It’s Pink Saturday, and today I’m sharing some pics of my favorite pink quilt. I made this quilt to sell on Etsy (please excuse all the goofy white writing on the pictures), it never sold, so I got to keep it!! I machine pieced it and then hand quilted it. I LOVE making quilts! I almost always have one I’m working on…I find it truly relaxing and satisfying to quilt. I have been quilting since around 1983. My three kitties love all the quilts…hmmm…I may have to do a future post of them on the quilts! I wish everyone a blessed weekend! Victoria Lynn

Pink Details!!

A vintage glass lamp with a fantastic pink lampshade found at Ross, it came complete with the feather boa trim!

Black miniature wrought iron chair (how cute is that!) from TJ Maxx, reproduction French poodle figurine and a glass jar full of pink Jelly Bellies! YUM!

Found this darling vintage pink kitty hanger at the antique mall in Port Orchard, shopping with my BFF Donna Lynn!

I mentioned in my last post that this Eiffel Tower lamp came from Target, but the lamp shade is from Ross

A close up of the pink/cream/taupe gingham taffeta, isn’t it yummy?!

This afternoon Abby decided she’s in love with “her” new quilt!

Thanks for letting me share all the fun details!

Oh, La, La...A Pink Bedroom for Rachel!!!

Sugar and spice, and everything nice…that’s what little girls are made of! Someone forgot the pink!! Well here is the newly (almost) finished bedroom belonging to my big girl, Rachel. She wanted pink – for the first time in her life – with French accents. She had so much fun picking everything out! I made her duvet cover, dust ruffle, curtains and valance. We still are working on some throw pillows and have a chair to paint and recover, but we wanted to share what we had. She’s also eyeing a pretty chandelier at Lowe’s. I think it every girl should have a chandelier, don’t you?!

An antique desk painted black and a sign to remind her of her dreams when she’s working!

The sign under the kitty clock says “Fairy tales do come true”!

Breakfast At Tiffany’s, a black mirror and pink glass knobs!

A familiar cabinet with a new home! (see my post dated April 1 for the before/after pics of this cabinet)

An antique white mirror, vintage lamp with a fabulous new shade and a cute reproduction poodle!

Vintage white dresser with pink glass knobs, fleur de lis robe hook and stacking boxes with Paris scenes

New duvet cover made from vintage look black/pink damask print, dust ruffle and curtains are cream/pink/taupe gingham taffeta. She found the black Eiffel Tower lamp at Target!

New curtains and valance (they didn’t show up very well, I’m not very good with backlighting!)

Vintage white painted bed with her newly finished quilt (see my post dated March 5 for a picture of the quilt when I was just starting it)! I just finished painting my bedroom and will post pictures when I get it done. I wish you all a blessed week, hugs, Victoria Lynn

So Many Ribbons...What's A Girl To Do?!

They’re shiny, they’re silky, and they’re like chiffon on a lemon pie. I cannot imagine my life without RIBBONS!! As a seamstress, crafter and florist I have a fond affection for ribbons ~ over the years my collection has gotten out of control. And there never seems to be a place for all of them. They’re constantly rolling around, falling off things and unraveling all over the floor. Not that the cats mind…ooooh, look a new toy!! I decided to do something to corral all those out of control ribbons. Here is what I came up with! (I did, however, manage to convince myself to donate some of my collection to the local thrift store)

"Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me". Ps. 50:15

Have a blessed week! Victoria Lynn
