Happy Thanksgiving from Tennessee

This Thanksgiving I am blessed to be celebrating my first in my new home, in Tennessee. God has richly provided for my every need and I give Him thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Rachel and I will be celebrating the day with a visit from friends, who are coming in from Ohio. I am making a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings! This year I'm sticking with my "northern" recipes. Maybe next year I'll try some new "southern" recipes! I do have one recipe that has southern roots that I'll be preparing....Chocolate Pecan Bourbon Pie! So, if that sounds good to you, here is the recipe:

Chocolate Pecan Bourbon Pie

Fit a piecrust into a 9" pieplate. Fold the edges under and crimp. Whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 cup light corn syrup, 6 Tbsp. butter (melted), 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar (firmly packed), 3 Tbsp. bourbon, 1 Tbsp. flour and 1 Tbsp. vanilla. Stir until thoroughly blended. Stir in 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans and 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels. Pour mixture into the piecrust. Place pie on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees on the lowest oven rack for 55 minutes, or until set. (Knife comes out clean when poked near center) Cool on a wire rack 1 hour or until completely cool. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream...YUM!!!
I want to wish all my blogging friends a very Happy Thanksgiving! What are y'all doing for the holiday?! I am thankful for each one of you, God bless!

Hugs,
Victoria Lynn

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, with prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6 -7

Hey girlfriend,

Friends from Ohio huh??? LOL!! We are not going to be coming through because where we were going to our friends in Murfreesboro, she got very sick and had emergency surgery last week and was just d/c from the hospital yesterday so we are staying home. I think we are going to Cracker Barrel since it is just the three of us this year.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving my sweet friend.

Hugs,
LeAnn:)

Hi Victoria:
How wonderful to be having your first Thanksgiving dinner in your new home and newly adopted state...with friends. I know you will have a great time.
I am doing a small dinner for hubby and I. (kind of sad that no one will be here this year).
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Rachel....
