More From Home

It’s hard to believe that this is the last weekend in the month of June! I wish everyone a fun filled and enjoyable weekend. I have been working on my new house some more and wanted to share more photos with all my beloved blog friends.

My BFF Donna bought this black star for me when she was here visiting. There are a lot of stars on houses, garages and barns here in the South. I love it, and it’s perfect on the plant ledge above my living room. I found the topiary back in Port Orchard. I believe you can NEVER have too many topiaries!

This is my favorite old lithograph of yellow roses. (Sorry about the glare, I’m getting used to a new camera) I was blessed to find it at an estate sale about 6 years ago for only $50! I wish I could find more…Oh well, I’m just happy to have one! Also in the picture is a 1960’s vintage compote dish with crystals. I love these in their original brass or painted white (or even pink…). They’re so versatile (my favorite look is at Christmas, filled with vintage pink glass balls).

A vintage cake plate with yellow roses. And a wrought iron candelabra from Ross ($5!).

This wall is in my bedroom. I love violets and roses together. These two yard longs are reproductions of Paul deLongpre water colors. The plates are some of my collection of vintage violet plates. The dresser is a vintage green wicker dresser with original appliqués. I’m so glad it made it unscathed from the move! Also in the picture is a vintage candelabra, which I painted white, one of my Bunnies By The Bay, and a vintage toleware tray with violets.

A closer look….

More in my bedroom (yes, that’s really a china hutch in my bedroom!). You may remember an earlier post where I painted the buffet it’s sitting on. Here are more of my vintage violet china pieces along with some green depression glass and amethyst glass. My favorite pieces are the large vintage violet platter and the vintage pansy oil painting.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my new home with you!

Hugs,
Victoria Lynn

Wow thanks for sharing your beautiful home. Donna Lynn has given us just a glimpse of the huge move you had to make but it is nice to see your pictures. I love that you have a china cabinet in your bedroom, I have a buffet in my bathroom. I will have to share a post about that sometime. Thank you for your sweet thoughts about my daddy. I could never live without Jesus.....

Love to you & I am going to add you to my favorites....I'm sure you will become one quickly....

So I never noticed that there was a light that shines directly down on the star. Apparently I don't look up enough. But everything looks fantastic online and even better in person!

(And yay for the shiny new wireless router that makes it possible for us to be online without randomly getting kicked off. ;~))

Love from the Expert Desk Putter-Together,
Rach

You have such cute things. I love the way you display everything.

I also love the idea of "breaking the rules" and putting the china hutch in your bedroom. After all, who said it has to go in a certain room anyway!

Good for you.
Hugs,
Joanne
